Let’s Build Bergstrom

Bergstom Lodge Rendering

“Camp Stevens is a jewel in the Episcopal community and in southern California,
from its rootedness in environmental sustainability, to its open and affirming community and creative programs.
Continuing in this strong tradition, the Bergstrom Lodge will benefit family campers, church vestries, and everything in between.”

– Bishop Diane Jardine Bruce, Honorary Committee Chair

Dear Friends,

The Bergstrom Lodge is integral to the future of Camp Stevens. It will allow our mission to inspire, challenge, and empower personal, social, and environmental transformation to reach a more diverse population.  The Bergstrom Lodge will welcome and revitalize our guests with comfortable space to connect, through openness, gratitude and wonder, to one another, their families and peers, creation, and the outdoor world.

James Hubbell-designed PatioThe building will feature:

  • Hotel-style rooms that accommodate 1-4 people each, with single and double beds and private bathrooms;
  • Camp-provided linens;
  • Two meeting spaces, with comfortable seating, wireless internet and conferencing accommodations for up to 40 people;
  • Outdoor promenade allowing for private access to each bedroom;
  • A patio and outdoor fire pit designed by world-renowned artist and architect James Hubbell.

By providing more privacy and amenities, we will attract smaller groups and church vestries, individuals on sabbatical or retreat, and those in need of more accessibility. All of these guests will encounter Camp Stevens community-based hospitality, environmental mindfulness, and the Dining Hall experience we’re known for with family-style meals that highlight organic, local, and homemade food.

Peter & Vicki BergstromBefore Peter and Vicki Bergstrom, Camp Stevens was little more than a camping program a few weeks each summer. Camp Stevens is stepping into the future with a strong new strategic plan that will continue to transform people and this peaceful place apart. Outfitted with a strong history, a new mission statement and strategic plan, a passionate alumni base, and generous donors, Camp Stevens is ready to build. Are you?

Give today to honor the legacy of Peter and Vicki Bergstrom
and to help establish Camp Stevens as a destination for years to come.
